Decisions Made

The We enjoyed our trip last year to Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain, and Needles Roads on our bus tour. We decided to follow the route sheet for the day...well mostly. We had no idea how much more fun it would be driving Iron Mountain and Needle Roads in a car rather than riding in a tour bus. There are lots of twisted, hairpin turns, wood bridges and small tight tunnels.

We keep looking for all the buffalo and wildlife we saw last year. Our only encounters today were a few deer, one antelope, and one gigantic buffalo.

Next stop today was in Alliance, Nebraska for the Surprise and Delight. It was the Carhenge.

Before we got to the Carhenge we decided to find lunch. We got off the route to find a small town where we could have lunch. We found it in Hemingford, NE!

This small joint is only open for breakfast and lunch...and for lunch there is only one selection per day. Take it or leave it!!
Today's offering, as the girl said, was "Linguine and eye-talian sausage."

I gotta tell you...it was fabulous!!

After the surprise and delight it was tally ho to Cheyenne, Wyoming. All I can say...it's the road that never ends....

Hey!  Is that a butte...or a Jose Mesa.

There was a short stretch of beautiful formations but other than that cattle, hay and more hay farming.

We did spot the great Wyoming Forest!!
