Wild Wednesday

I'm On our original route sheet the drive from Cheyenne to Park City looked like it could be a drag.  Mostly freeway with no midpoint diversion.  Thanks to Mini we were handed a couple of reroute options!

We started the morning in the historic Depot Plaza and that gave us a chance to appreciate Cheyenne a little more.  It's a small town...but it is the state capital.  We lined our cars up right in the center of town and gave the locals a show!   The area is full of western supply stores and saloons but it is also full of public art displays.

Mini will be donating over 1 million
meals to Defy Hunger!

After we left town amid the cheers of the locals we headed west with the Uintas Range in sight.  Our first option was to jump off of the freeway and take Rt 130, The Snowy Ridge Road.  Up into the mountains we went with all of our Mini pals...what a sight!   The temperature was well over 90 when we started the climb and in the low 60s when we got to the observation castle at the top.  There is still snow up there!!!

God is not my co-pilot!

We started down and found lunch at a cool town that was overrun with Minis...but we were lucky enough to beat the crowd!

Then it was on toward Park City, UT but we we given another optional route from Evanston, WY.  This was the Mirror Lake Highway.  Not quite as dramatic as the morning run but beautiful just the same!   We found dinner in Kamas, UT.    Then it was another 20 miles or so to Park City where we found our hotel and pack it in.  It was a long day, but no complaints from here!!
