Our last morning event was hot, low key, and a little emotional. After all of those days in the car, driving along with so many people, making some new friends, seeing some new sights, looking for America, and feeling the accomplishment it was time to wrap it up and cross the finish line in Thermal, California.
What an unusual place for a couple of Ohioans to be. At 8:00am it was not only 100 degrees but a hot wind was blowing up sand and making a mess of everything. It looked like some desert movie set.
Mini gave all of those who did the complete route an official tee shirt to commemorate the event and the accomplishment. Cheri asked for the smallest size they had and was handed a men's large! All they had was large, extra large and some xx large...so all of the women have new sleepwear.
We also receive an umbrella and posed for a group photo.
We are already looking forward to 2018 to see if the route and the timing are right for us.
